Travellers cheques are a good alternative to cash as there is no expiration date, meaning you can save your unused cheque for your next trip.
Travellers cheques are offered in 3 major currencies (US Dollars, British Pounds, Euros) which are easy to use and can be replaced if lost or stolen. All you have to do is sign the top left hand corner of the cheque and record the cheque serial number, which you will need if reporting it as lost or stolen.
To cash your cheque you will need to provide personal ID i.e in the format of a drivers license or passport.
A draft is similar to either a bank or company cheque made out to pay your nominated payee in a specified single currency. A Draft provides security of payment as it is a non-negotiable instrument and can only be credited to the Payee’s bank account unless the Payee has endorsed the draft.

A telegraphic transfer is an electronic transfer of funds to a nominated overseas bank account in a specified currency. It is one of the safest and quickest ways to send funds overseas. A normal transfer takes approximately 72 hours. By partnering with Travelex (a subscriber to the SWIFT network) funds can be sent quickly and efficiently in a wide range of currencies.
To request a telegraphic transfer, complete the Telegraphic Transfer form and return it to Police & Nurses.
